September 25th, 2008TWIN CITIES
September 21st, 2008Sometimes two cities grow into each other over time. They are called TWIN CITIES. Hyderabad and Secundrabad are Twin Cities.
Here is information from wikipedia:
Two cities or urban centres which are born in close geographic proximity and then grow into each other over time. The term Twin Cities in the United States refers specifically to the cities Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.
TWINCITIES IN FLORIDA:
There are LOTS of twin cities all over the world!
Photoshopped Horse Picture
September 20th, 2008For after school activities at the school, I am doing computer graphics in the art room of the school. I am learning how to use photoshop a little. I can’t wait to play with photoshop a little more. I drew a picture of a horse with oil pastels. I took a picture of it and saved it on the computer. I used photoshop to change how it looked. Can you find the differences between these 4 pictures?
My Field Trip to Taramati Baradari
September 8th, 2008Last Thursday, I went on a field trip to Taramati Baradari. I’ll tell you now. First we went on the bus. It got really bumpy. REALLY bumpy. It took a pretty long time to get there, but we saw some cool things on the way like an army place. It had cannons at the front of it, at each entrance.
When we got there, we went up like 1000 stairs, it was A LOT of stairs. It was really tiring. Once we got up to the building, we did a group play with three in each group. The play was about the king watching one of the girls dancing and the dad of the king was trying to stop one of the girls from marrying. In the play, I had to be the father. It was fun being the dad because you get to pretend to punish the son.
Mom and I looked up the story on Wikipedia: Here is what it said:
Taramati Baradari is a palace located in Hyderabad, India, that was built under the Seventh Sultan of Golconda, Abdullah Qutb Shah as an ode to his favorite courtesan, Taramati.
Abdullah Qutb Shah is believed to have enjoyed Taramati’s song even while at Golconda fort. Her melodious voice would be carried by the breeze, reaching the prince’s ear at the fort, because of the acoustics model, in the structure as well as that of the fort.
One tells of two ravishing dancing girls, Taramati and Premamati, sisters who danced on ropes tied between their pavilion and the balcony of the king and patron, Abdulla Qutub Shah.
Then it was time to leave, and we saw the same things on the way home that we saw on the way there.
It was really fun and I really loved it.
My Room
September 7th, 2008
Would you like to see my room? Here it is!
When you walk in, you look straight at the art cabinet where I usually draw and paint, mostly drawing though.
To the left of my Art Cabinet is my window and my clothing closet. I put a little picture of a tiger flying over mountains in my window. To open the windows, you have to pull the velcro screens off just to get to the window. There are bars in the window too, maybe so that nobody falls out the window.
To the right of the art cabinet is the bathroom. The water in the shower just gets really hot, REALLY HOT, and I burnt myself 3 times already because it gets so hot. My shower was leaking through the wall toward the staircase wall, and it hit the wall and made stains there, but it is fixed now. They painted white over it, but it just went right back through the paint so there is always going to be a stain.
On the left wall, there’s my bed. Its not like a bunk bed like I had in Florida, but it is a pretty big bed. Over the bed is a horse picture of three horses running. The other thing that is up over the bed is the air conditioning. Its cool because it keeps me cool, but sort of too cold sometimes. I can use the remote to control the air conditioning myself.
I also have a closet in my room that we changed into the “cat room”. Its where the cats go to the bathroom. I put signs up telling everyone that that was the cat room.
Just to say, I like my room.
